Friction welding
heat that unites and does not betray

AMONG THE MOST IMPORTANT INNOVATIONS, IT IS WORTH MENTIONING FRICTION WELDING

Our strength is undoubtedly the wealth of technical expertise that we have gained in the field and continue to update.
Among the most important innovations, it is worth highlighting friction stir welding (or friction welding) that allows us to achieve excellent joints even between dissimilar materials such as carbon steels and stainless steels.

The secret? An entirely mechanical process, without the use of external sealing material and without the generation of fusion: this avoids the formation of dangerous porous and fragile areas, impurities, cracks and breaks.
One of the two components is rotated and pushed into contact with the other so as to produce heat by friction. The process is then completed by stopping the relative motion and applying greater pressure (forging) which allows a quality weld to be achieved.

Complete and homogeneous that creates a resistance equal to or greater than that of the welded materials, absolutely reliable even in case of continuous and important stresses.

Economically advantageous for the customer, considering the savings on the costs of raw materials, processing and the reduction of production times. Applied specifically to the field of joints and motor shafts, it avoids producing the shaft or joint entirely in stainless steel, limiting the use of stainless steels only at the end in contact with any corrosive liquids and using carbon steels for the remaining part which, in addition to being less expensive, guarantee a high magnetic efficiency of the motor.

Safe for the worker as an entirely mechanical process and without the use of additives.

Sustainable throughout the entire process.

CHECKING AND TESTING

The implementation of a new 4.0 Checking and Testing Department for Friction Welding allows us to:
– guarantee an ever higher quality standard of our products,
– produce on request certificates relating to the destructive and non-destructive tests performed, in particular mechanical bending certificates and micrographic certificates,
– provide technical support to the customer who intends to evaluate the welding of any other types of alloys.
